Pakistani Election Commission Rejects JUI-F Petition and Upholds Sadaf Ehsan’s National Assembly Membership

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has dismissed a petition filed by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F)’s leader Hina Bibi concerning the party’s reserved seat for women in the National Assembly. In its decision, the ECP decided to retain Sadaf Ehsan as a Member of the National Assembly and ruled against her de-notification.

Hina Bibi had argued that Sadaf Ehsan was not included on their party’s priority list for women’s reserved seats, thereby making her ineligible for election. However, after reviewing the case, the ECP rejected this plea and upheld Sadaf Ehsan’s position in the National Assembly.

Following this decision, Hina Bibi remains eligible to challenge the ruling before an election tribunal.
