Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye Back Islamabad MoU in Cairo Meeting

Foreign ministers from Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey met in Cairo for the fourth consultative meeting. They expressed gratitude to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his vision towards regional stability.

The ministers discussed global and regional developments and emphasized the importance of continued consultations for peace, security, and prosperity. They welcomed the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between the US and Iran on June 18.

The R-4 countries praised Pakistan’s role in reaching the agreement and acknowledged Qatar’s assistance in negotiations. The four nations stressed the need for a successful conclusion to future negotiations and highlighted the importance of achieving a lasting, verifiable solution.

Concerns of regional countries were taken into account, with special attention given to protecting Gulf Arab states and the Levant region. The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to a just, comprehensive peace in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
