A petition demanding nomination papers and asset records for Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar has been filed with Pakistan’s Election Commission. The application, submitted by advocate Asif Mahmood, seeks certified copies of Chadhar’s election documents and his declared assets.
The applicant claims a separate disqualification petition against Chadhar is already under process at the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly. This petition argues that scrutiny into the legislator’s financial dealings is necessary due to allegations of providing expensive gifts and property to a woman.
The application emphasizes that elected representatives are legally bound to disclose their assets, including those of Chadhar, his spouse, and dependent family members. It requests all relevant documents for examination of the lawmaker’s asset declarations and income disclosures.
