Ex-Prince Andrew leaves Windsor home after latest Epstein revelations

Former Prince Andrew, brother of King Charles, has moved out of his palatial home at Royal Lodge, Windsor, following new damaging disclosures about his relationships with the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The ex-prince, 65, had hoped to remain at Royal Lodge for longer but was transferred under cover of darkness on Monday and driven to a cottage in Sandringham, King Charles’ Norfolk estate.

A royal source confirmed that Andrew is now resident in the cottage at Sandringham, though he might occasionally return to Windsor in the coming weeks while a transitionary phase is completed. A friend described it as “so humiliating for him that he chose to do it under the cover of darkness.”

Charles stripped Andrew of his titles in October and stated that Andrew would be moved after details emerged of his ongoing relationship with Epstein. The king has also expressed sympathy towards abuse victims.

On Friday, new files related to Epstein were published by the U.S. Justice Department, including emails suggesting that Andrew maintained regular contact with Epstein for more than two years after he was found guilty in 2008. Although Andrew denied wrongdoing and had previously claimed he severed ties with Epstein, apart from a brief visit in 2010 to end their relationship.
