Facial Recognition Tech to Boost Security at KATI: Sindh Police

Inspector General (IG) Raja Riffat Mukhtar of Sindh Police announced the deployment of Facial Recognition Technology (FRT) to bolster security measures at the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) during a recent visit.

At the event, attended by various dignitaries including KATI President Johar Qandhari and Deputy Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya, IG Mukhtar emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to combat criminal elements within industries.

He highlighted the establishment of a digital data center by KATI members to facilitate seamless data exchange with the police, aiming to enhance security collaboration.

IG Mukhtar also mentioned the recruitment of 50,000 security guards under private arrangements to address manpower shortages, doubling the existing police force.

Notably, significant improvements in response times have been achieved, with plans underway to further reduce it to five minutes. Moreover, efforts to obtain modern software for instant location determination are in progress, promising time-saving benefits.

The IG stressed the importance of rebuilding public trust and assured full cooperation from Sindh Police to KATI members and the business community.
