FBR and Karandaaz Collaborate for Tax System Digitization

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) inked an agreement with Karandaaz Pakistan for the digitization of the tax system, as announced in a statement on Friday. This agreement, initiated on the directives of the prime minister, aims to streamline and digitalize tax processes for enhanced efficiency.

The signing ceremony witnessed the participation of FBR Chairman, Malik Amjad Zubair Tiwana, and senior officials from the Ministry of Finance.

The collaboration with Karandaaz Pakistan is expected to facilitate the digitization of FBR’s tax infrastructure, ultimately leading to reduced costs for taxpayers, the FBR highlighted. Additionally, this initiative is poised to contribute to the broader objectives of digitizing the economy, expanding the tax base, and fostering sustainable revenue growth.

Addressing the occasion, FBR Chief, Malik Amjad Zubair Tiwana, emphasized the organization’s commitment to modernizing systems and digitizing the economy. He stressed the importance of concerted efforts in combating the challenges posed by the undocumented economy and in expanding the tax base.
