Five Miners Rescued Alive After Deadly Dukki Coal Mine Collapse

Rescue teams in Balochistan’s Dukki district successfully completed an operation following a coal mine collapse that trapped six miners underground.

According to the District Inspector of Mines, the incident occurred late last night when a mound of earth collapsed inside a coal mine, trapping six miners working deep underground.

Immediately after the incident was reported, rescue efforts began. After nearly 14 hours of continuous work, one miner was pulled out alive from the collapsed section of the mine.

Additional personnel were called in to speed up the operation. After nearly 20 hours, four more miners were safely rescued.

During the final phase of the operation, the body of the sixth miner was recovered, and the rescue mission was concluded officially. The miners had been working at a depth of nearly 3,000 feet when the collapse occurred.
