Pakistan Football Federation XI defeated United Nations (UN) XI 3-1 in an exhibition match held on World Football Day at Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad. The event was organized by the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) to bring together diplomats, football personalities, and international representatives for promoting peace, unity, and brotherhood through sports.
The match saw participation from United Nations Pakistan Resident Coordinator Mohamed Yahya, diplomats from France, Romania, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe, PFF President Syed Mohsin Gilani, Pakistan football team head coach Nolberto Solano, former Pakistan captain Essa Khan, and several other distinguished guests. PFF XI dominated the game with Shahzeb scoring twice, while Essa Khan added another goal to seal victory. The lone UN XI goal was scored by Nnu Gibson.
Mohamed Yahya emphasized that Pakistan possesses immense football talent and that the United Nations would continue supporting efforts for the promotion and development of football in the country. PFF President Syed Mohsin Gilani highlighted that football is rapidly growing in Pakistan, with the federation committed to creating more opportunities for young players and taking the game to every corner of the nation. The celebration concluded with a strong message that sports are not merely entertainment but also powerful tools for promoting peace, friendship, and global harmony.
