Google Pay is expected to be launched in Pakistan by mid-March 2025, aiming to strengthen the country’s expanding digital payment ecosystem.

The new service will enable Pakistani users to link their bank-issued debit and credit cards to Google Pay for secure, contactless payments. Partnerships with Visa, Mastercard, and local banks will support the rollout.

Through the Google Wallet application, users will be able to connect their debit and credit cards for seamless transactions at compatible terminals.

Currently, preparations are underway, with four to six financial institutions working alongside Visa and Mastercard to meet the technical requirements for the launch.

The introduction of Google Wallet, which allows multiple payment cards from various financial institutions, is expected to boost the adoption of digital payments in Pakistan, particularly for POS systems and e-commerce platforms.
