Government Committed to Support Business Community, Says Minister for Industries

Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, announced on Friday that the government is actively taking measures to facilitate the business community and the general public.

Speaking to a delegation from the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), led by its President Atif Ikram Sheikh, the minister highlighted the government’s efforts to set up special economic zones to attract investment.

Hussain emphasized that economic development can only be achieved through increasing exports and assured the delegation that the government is addressing the challenges faced by the industry.

FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh pointed out the need to align energy prices with those of regional countries to enhance competitiveness. He stressed that to eliminate dependency on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and boost domestic exports, Pakistan must pursue industrialization. Sheikh added that if the government provides relief in electricity tariffs, the business community could meet an export target of $60 billion.
