Federal Ombudsman Secretariat’s Regional Office in Karachi hosted a ceremony to recognize the contributions of leading public service organizations that have played a key role in addressing citizens’ grievances, particularly those affecting underprivileged communities.
The event highlighted the importance of inter-agency cooperation in ensuring timely and effective resolution of public complaints. Appreciation Certificates were presented by Amir Ahmed Shaikh, Member In-Charge and Provincial Coordinator of the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat (WMS), Karachi, to representatives of several institutions that have worked closely with the Ombudsman’s office to improve public service delivery. Among those honored were Moonis Abdullah Alvi, former Chief Executive Officer of K-Electric; Muhammad Amin Rajput, Managing Director of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC); Aamir Ali Khan, Director General of NADRA; Mubashir, Director of the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), representing the Chairman of EOBI; and Saeed Ahmed Abbasi, Director of Immigration and Passports.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials of the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat, including Senior Advisor Syed Anwar Haider, Advisor Moula Bux, and Director Rashid Ahmed Shaikh.


Addressing the gathering, Amir Ahmed Shaikh praised the recipient organizations for their continued cooperation and commitment to resolving complaints referred by the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat. He said the prompt handling of public grievances remains essential for strengthening citizens’ trust in public institutions and improving the quality of government services. He noted that effective grievance redressal cannot be achieved in isolation and requires strong coordination among institutions. According to him, meaningful outcomes emerge when public organizations work collectively to address citizens’ concerns and ensure that services are delivered efficiently and transparently.
The Member In-Charge paid special tribute to NADRA for introducing citizen-focused initiatives aimed at improving service delivery and making public services more accessible. He also commended the efforts of SSGC, K-Electric, EOBI, and the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports for their responsiveness and dedication in handling complaints forwarded by the Ombudsman’s office.
In his concluding remarks, Amir Ahmed Shaikh thanked the leadership and representatives of the participating organizations for their support and professionalism. He also announced plans to arrange a meeting between the heads of these institutions and the Federal Ombudsman in the coming months to further strengthen coordination and enhance mechanisms for public service delivery.
The ceremony concluded with Director General NADRA Aamir Ali Khan presenting a commemorative shield to Amir Ahmed Shaikh and souvenirs to officers of the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat’s Karachi office in recognition of their efforts in public service and grievance resolution.
