Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan paid tribute to Shaheed Captain Karnal Sher Khan at an event in Rawalpindi. He emphasized that the sacrifices made by Pakistan Army martyrs are unforgettable, highlighting their pride for the nation.
Addressing workers of the PPP, Saleem Haider urged all political parties to play a constructive role in strengthening democracy. He stressed that protecting national security, the constitution, and democratic system is a shared responsibility.
Saleem Haider referred to the military coup on July 5, 1977, stating it dealt a major setback to democracy. He noted the historic sacrifices made by the PPP leadership for restoring democracy, constitutional supremacy, and public rights protection.
Regarding upcoming elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Saleem Haider expressed confidence that the PPP would secure strong public support. He also expressed confidence that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would become Pakistan’s next prime minister, describing him as a leader who represents underprivileged and marginalized segments of society.
