New Spotify data reveals that streams of heartbreak-themed music on Valentine’s Day surged nearly 190% in 2025 compared to 2023, highlighting a growing trend of listeners turning to music to process complex emotions.

The answer might surprise you. Men account for 66% of heartbreak listening in Pakistan, while more than half of all streams come from 18–24 year olds, placing Gen Z at the center of this trend. For younger listeners in particular, Valentine’s isn’t just about celebrating love—it’s about navigating it. Music has become the space where those emotions are explored most honestly.
