Heavy Rain to Lash Karachi From Friday

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a warning for strong winds, thunderstorms, and heavy rainfall across Sindh, including Karachi, on Thursday and Friday (February 29 and March 1).

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz has specifically highlighted Friday, March 1, as a day when Karachi can expect substantial rainfall throughout the day and into the late hours.

Temperatures in Karachi are anticipated to drop over the subsequent three to four days starting from March 1.

Earlier this week, Karachi experienced strong winds reaching speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour, a result of Siberian winds, which led to a decrease in minimum temperatures to 16 degrees Celsius.

In addition to Karachi, the Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain in various parts of the country over the next two days, with the possibility of hailstorms in certain areas. Already, Pakistan’s southwestern province of Balochistan has encountered heavy rainfall, resulting in flooding in several areas, notably in the coastal city of Gwadar.
