Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, formally launched a paperless licensing system for the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), marking a significant step towards modernising their services.

An ITP official told APP on Sunday that Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Sarfraz Virk and other traffic officers were present at the event. The IGP reviewed the newly established paperless counters and issued directions for smooth implementation of the system.

The initiative was taken to facilitate citizens and save their valuable time, as they would no longer need to bring documents, photocopies, or photographs during the licensing process. Under the new system, the entire process from medical examination to issuance of a driving licence has been made completely paperless.

IGP Rizvi appreciated CTO Muhammad Sarfraz Virk and his team for completing the project in a short time. He added that the licensing fee system would also be digitalised soon. Citizens will now only need their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) to obtain a driving licence from the Islamabad Traffic Police.
