Indian Air Force’s Antonov AN-32 Transport Aircraft Caught Fire Post-Landing
An Antonov AN-32 military transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) met with a severe accident in Jorhat district of Assam on Saturday. The aircraft caught fire shortly after landing, as reported by India Today.
The IAF confirmed the incident but did not release further details about casualties or damage. This latest mishap adds to a concerning trend for New Delhi’s military aviation safety record.
According to statistical data compiled this year, the IAF has lost 11 combat aircraft and one helicopter due to various crashes and operational accidents within the current calendar year alone. Experts have highlighted these continuous accidents as indicative of potential war preparations and defense hollowness in India, with each incident revealing severe disarray, negligence, and technical decline within the IAF.
