The service building, targeted as part of Iran’s aggression against Kuwait, led to the fatality of an Indian worker and extensive material damage, according to the Ministry of Electricity statement.

Technical and emergency teams were swiftly deployed to manage the aftermath and ensure operations could resume at the facility. Al Jazeera reported this immediate response from the technical teams.

Iran has not yet commented on the attack.

The plant sustained considerable damage following the conflict, which Iranian authorities have claimed has killed over 2,000 people, including former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The attacks on critical infrastructure have led Iran to retaliate with drone and missile strikes against Israel and other regional states hosting US military assets. These actions have also disrupted the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route for about 20% of global oil and liquefied natural gas flows, causing energy prices to rise and destabilising financial markets.
