IndiGo Airlines reported receiving bomb threats on 10 of its flights on Tuesday, leading India’s largest airline to divert three international flights as a safety measure. According to Indian media, around 50 flights across various airlines have been targeted with bomb threats, and the number of incidents is increasing daily.

IndiGo officials highlighted a shift in the nature of threats, with different handles targeting various airlines. Previously, threats came from the same source, but recent days have seen a surge in distinct handles issuing warnings.

In response to the threats, the government has promised to implement strict penalties for those responsible. As a precaution, IndiGo diverted three flights: Bengaluru-Jeddah (6E 77) to Doha, Kozhikode-Jeddah (6E 65) to Riyadh, and Delhi-Jeddah (6E 63) to Medina. All passengers were safely disembarked after the aircraft were isolated.

IndiGo reaffirmed its commitment to passenger and crew safety, stating that it is working closely with relevant authorities. Mandatory safety checks are ongoing, and the airline expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to customers. Additionally, other flights, including AI’s Delhi-New York and Akasa’s Bangalore-Varanasi, were also reported to have received threats.
