The World Economic Forum has initiated an independent investigation into CEO Borge Brende following disclosures from the US Justice Department. The organization stated that Brende had engaged in multiple business dinners with Jeffrey Epstein, a disgraced financier and sex offender. Additionally, the documents revealed communications between Brende and Epstein via email and text messages.

“In light of these interactions,” the Forum said in its statement, “the Governing Board requested the Audit and Risk Committee to look into the matter, which subsequently decided to initiate an independent review.” This decision underscores the organization’s commitment to transparency and integrity.
