Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has stated that Iran does not seek war but remains prepared to defend itself if necessary. In an interview with Al Mayadeen television network, Araghchi asserted that despite months of conflict since February 28, Iran’s military capabilities have strengthened.

Araghchi emphasized that Iran wants peace on terms it deems honorable and is ready to continue fighting if required. He also claimed the US had failed to achieve its objectives in the ongoing conflict with Iran.

On diplomacy, Araghchi said there was no formal negotiation process between Tehran and Washington currently underway but communication channels remained open. Any future negotiations would be based on Iran’s national interests, rights of its people, and efforts to secure an end to conflicts both in Iran and Lebanon.

Araghchi reiterated that developments in Lebanon and Iran are interconnected, insisting a lasting agreement requires an end to hostilities on both fronts. He also warned Washington that any Israeli attack on Beirut would effectively end the ceasefire and trigger a response from Iran’s armed forces.
