Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian spoke on Friday about the ongoing inspiration of Ashura for resistance against oppression. He highlighted that the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (RA) and other martyrs in Karbala continues to resonate globally.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi paid tribute to the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, describing him as the “Master of Martyrs” during a recent conflict. He emphasized that Shias honor Imam Hussain (AS) for his sacrifice and vowed not to forget or forgive the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei.
This year’s Ashura was particularly significant in Iran, marking the first Muharram observance since Ayatollah Khamenei’s death. Millions dressed in black participated in traditional rituals such as mourning processions and recitations of elegies.
