Iran Refuses to Surrender Enriched Uranium, Rejects Nuclear Deal Terms

Iran has not agreed to hand over its highly enriched uranium stockpile, according to a senior Iranian source speaking to Reuters. The nuclear issue was not part of the preliminary agreement with the United States and will be addressed in negotiations for a final deal.

Meanwhile, Fars News reported that a potential memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US could temporarily lift sanctions on Iran’s oil, gas, petrochemicals and related products during the negotiation period. If approved by Iran’s supreme national security council and Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, this measure would allow Iran to sell these products freely while talks were underway.
