The Royal Navy has shrunk from about 62,000 personnel and 50 destroyers/frigates to currently operating with 38,000 personnel and 13 destroyers/frigates.

The RAF operates over 150 fighter jets, including Eurofighter Typhoons and Lockheed Martin F-35s, down from a fleet of 700 fast-jet aircraft in 1991.
