On Thursday, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Doha. The meeting at the Emiri Diwan lasted over an hour and focused on regional tensions.
PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s condemnation of attacks targeting Qatar and other Gulf countries. He also reaffirmed Islamabad’s “full solidarity and support” for the Qatari leadership and people.
The leaders discussed the evolving regional situation, particularly in the Gulf region, and underscored the importance of de-escalation, dialogue, and close international coordination to ensure peace and stability.
PM Shehbaz expressed gratitude to Qatar for sending fighter jets to escort his aircraft as it entered Qatari airspace. He also highlighted the strength of enduring ties between Pakistan and Qatar.
Both sides emphasized maintaining smooth global energy supply chains and agreed to enhance coordination amid regional developments. The leaders reviewed bilateral ties, reaffirming commitment to expanding cooperation in key sectors including security, defense, and energy.
