Iran’s Pezeshkian Rejects US Threats, Stands Firm on International Law Dialogue

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated in a phone call with Iraqi prime minister-designate Ali Faleh Al Zaidi that Iran will not yield to US “bullying” and is open to dialogue only within the framework of international law.

Pezeshkian emphasized Iran’s refusal to submit to coercion, saying the Islamic Republic is ready for dialogue if approached logically. The US and Israel launched air strikes on Iran on February 28, prompting retaliatory missile and drone strikes by Tehran in the region.

Despite a temporary ceasefire brokered by Pakistan, Pezeshkian warned that continued US threats and the naval blockade on Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf, which Tehran has called “piracy,” jeopardize regional security. He reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to maintaining good relations with Gulf Arab states and highlighted the importance of unity among Muslim nations.
