Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reiterated that his nation has no intention of developing nuclear weapons and is ready to provide international assurances on this matter. In a statement, he emphasized Tehran’s unwavering commitment to national interests, dignity, and sovereignty. He also stressed the importance of Iran’s fundamental principles throughout ongoing negotiations.
Pezeshkian further stated that Iran seeks to advance diplomatic processes while safeguarding its sovereignty and protecting its national interests. This signals Tehran’s intent to remain engaged in dialogue without yielding on core positions.
A senior Iranian source told Reuters that the country has not agreed to hand over its highly enriched uranium stockpile, which is not part of the preliminary agreement with the United States. The nuclear issue will be addressed in negotiations for a final agreement and is therefore not part of the current deal, according to the source.
