Iran’s top officials ‘in perfect health’ – Fars Agency

Iran’s top officials remain unscathed amid escalating tensions, dispelling reports of a devastating Israeli assault on the country’s leadership. Fars News Agency confirmed that no significant damage has been done to the regime’s core figures, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and security chief Ali Larijani. While Israel claimed success in targeting these high-ranking officials, Iranian state media refute these allegations, maintaining that all key figures are in robust health.

On Saturday, Reuters reported on the first phase of US and Israeli strikes codenamed ‘Operation Epic Fury’. The operation targeted multiple Iranian officials but did not yield clear results; reports indicated both Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader, and President Masoud Pezeshkian were under attack. However, an earlier source with Reuters suggested that Khamenei was away from Tehran, likely in a secure location.

A significant number of Revolutionary Guards’ senior commanders and political figures have reportedly been killed or wounded during these attacks. Iranian sources cited by Reuters also indicated damage to several critical infrastructure sites across Iran. In response, Iranian forces retaliated against US and Israeli positions in the Middle East, resulting in explosions at bases in countries like Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Qatar.

These coordinated strikes have deepened distrust between the West and Iran, casting doubt on any future prospects for a diplomatic resolution to Tehran’s nuclear program. Despite continued warnings from Iranian officials, they assert that their nation will not abandon its pursuit of a peaceful nuclear future. As the situation unfolds in the volatile region, both sides are navigating dangerous waters, with the risk of escalating hostilities looming ominously on the horizon.

The latest round of strikes has sent shockwaves through the Middle East, underscoring how quickly tensions can escalate when key players are targeted and how easily conflicts spread beyond borders. The world watches as regional alliances shift in response to these destabilizing events, making any form of resolution seem increasingly distant.
