Khosa Passes Away After Treatment in Lahore Hospital

Former Punjab Governor Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa passed away on Thursday at the age of 90. He was under treatment at a private hospital in Lahore where he breathed his last.

His funeral prayer will be held in Dera Ghazi Khan, with the schedule to be announced later. Born on October 20, 1935, Khosa entered politics early and served as a member of the West Pakistan Assembly from 1962.

He was elected multiple times to the Punjab Assembly and held key ministerial portfolios including education, irrigation, finance, local government, and planning and development. He also briefly served as governor of Punjab in 1999.

His son, Dost Muhammad Khosa, is a prominent political figure who has previously served as chief minister of Punjab. Political and social circles have expressed deep sorrow over his demise, paying tribute to his long-standing public service.
