ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad district court has closed two 2022 ‘Haqeeqi Azadi March’ cases against the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The hearing took place at the Islamabad district courts, with Judicial Magistrate Azhar Nadeem presiding over the proceedings.

During the hearing, PTI’s founder was represented by his counsel, Sardar Muhammad Masroof Advocate. The defense argued that the cases dated back to 2022 and that several co-accused individuals had already been acquitted. They also informed the court that an acquittal application filed on behalf of the PTI founder had been pending for over two years.

The lawyer stated that the PTI founder had not been produced before the court during this period. The defense requested either to hear the acquittal application or to consign the cases to the record room, which the court accepted. Both cases against the PTI founder were thus closed.

Additionally, the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NCTIA) informed the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that Imran Khan refused to cooperate in an investigation into an ‘X account’.
