Islamabad, Rawalpindi to Face Water Shortages for 10 Days

Residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi will experience water shortages for 10 days as dam cleaning is scheduled from February 10 to 19. A formal notification regarding the disruption has been issued.

In Islamabad, supply will be affected in sectors D-12, G-10, G-11, F-10, F-11, and G-9. Meanwhile, Rawalpindi areas including Dhoke Hassu, Ratta Amral, Pirwadahi, and Military Colony will also face shortages.

The cleaning process will lead to a daily reduction of 5.5 million gallons in Islamabad’s water supply, while Rawalpindi will receive 13 million gallons less.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has urged residents to use water efficiently and store enough to avoid inconvenience during this period.
