Islamabad Red Zone Locked Down Ahead of Aafia Movement Protest

Authorities in Islamabad have sealed off the capital’s red zone following a protest announcement by the Aafia Movement, which advocates for the release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. According to media reports, the protest is set to demand justice for Dr. Siddiqui, who is currently serving an 86-year prison sentence in the United States.

In response, the district administration has implemented strict security measures, blocking key routes with containers and restricting access to the red zone to prevent demonstrations. Officials have emphasized that no protest permission has been granted for the area.
