Israel Targets New Hamas Chief in Gaza Strike
On Tuesday, Israel carried out a strike in Gaza targeting Mohammed Odeh, the new chief of Hamas’ armed wing. The operation was directed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz.
Odeh, appointed as head of the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades after his predecessor’s death in May, served as head of Hamas intelligence during the October 7 massacre. He was responsible for numerous Israeli civilian deaths and injuries.
The UN confirms at least 72,803 people have been killed since Israel’s retaliatory response in Gaza following the October 7 assault.
