An exhibition commemorating the 150th anniversary of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, founder of Pakistan, opened in Istanbul on Tuesday. Titled “The Founding Memory of a Nation,” it was organized by the Pakistani Embassy in Ankara and hosted at the Rami Library.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey, Yusuf Junaid, attended the opening ceremony alongside local officials, academics, and invited guests. Junaid emphasized Jinnah’s vision and leadership principles offer important lessons beyond Pakistan.
The exhibition runs until June 23 at the Rami Library, featuring rare historical photographs of Jinnah’s life and a documentary on his journey to founding Pakistan. Istanbul Deputy Governor Mehmet Sulun highlighted Jinnah’s transformation of an ideal into reality and his commitment to unity, justice, and rule of law in Pakistan.
Academic Davut Sahbaz noted Jinnah’s significance in Turkish historical memory due to his support for Muslim causes during the Ottoman Empire’s final years.
