Jemima Goldsmith, ex-wife of jailed Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday for permission for her sons, Kasim Khan and Sulaiman Khan, to visit their father in prison.

Imran has been incarcerated since August 2023, serving a sentence at Adiala Jail over a £190 million corruption case. He also faces trials under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) related to May 9, 2023 protests. The brothers have not seen Imran since November 2022 after he survived an assassination attempt.

In a post on X, Jemima stated concerns about Imran’s health and delays in visa processing for her sons. “This is an appeal directly to Pakistan’s PM Shehbaz Sharif to please allow Imran Khan’s two sons to see their father asap,” she wrote.

Her sons applied for visas in January but have yet to receive a response, despite the public promise that they could safely travel to Pakistan to see their father. The consulate states online visa processing normally takes 7-10 working days, which has now been 60 days.

Kasim accused the government of deliberately refusing to process his and his brother’s visas to prevent them from meeting their father, calling it cruel and collective punishment. Imran’s sister Aleema Khan had previously stated that the brothers would participate in a protest planned for August 5, 2025, but later said they would not join.
