Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced a new date for its sit-in outside the Sindh governor’s house, rescheduled to August 3 at 5 pm.
The protest, initially planned for July 31, was postponed due to the martyrdom of Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh.
JI Threatens Countrywide Boycott of Electricity Bills Over Govt’s Inaction
The sit-in will address issues including the imposition of taxes on electricity bills, the slab system, and problems with Independent Power Producers (IPPs). This decision was made during a meeting chaired by JI Karachi Ameer Munam Zafar.
JI has been actively protesting in Rawalpindi for the past six days against inflated electricity bills and related issues.
