Reconciliation efforts between Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s government and its dissident lawmakers have failed, as these members refuse to support the upcoming budget without prior consultation with PTI founder Imran Khan. A meeting in Peshawar saw participants link their movement to the campaign for Imran’s release, condemning his denial of a meeting with his family as a violation of human rights.
The statement urged party leaders to advance a comprehensive strategy for Imran’s release and warned that without it, there would be no progress on his medical treatment or family visits. It welcomed Aleema Bibi’s support for the budget but insisted it should not be presented in assembly until Imran can meet with Khan.
