The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has initiated a crackdown on illegal appointments in public universities. This move is directed towards enforcing Section 17A of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Universities Act 2012, which prohibits teaching faculty from holding administrative posts.
Documents from the University of Haripur reveal widespread violations of this law. Several faculty members are found to be serving in key administrative roles on an additional or acting basis.
Among those identified are Prof Dr Aziz Ullah as Director, Career Development Centre; Dr Shah Masaud as Director, Quality Enhancement Cell; Dr Muhammad Jhangir as Director, Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation; Dr Sami Ullah Khan as Director, Advanced Studies and Research Board; and Prof Dr Syed Moazam Nizami as Director Academics.
