The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) will begin urgent repairs on a major 84-inch diameter water pipeline from Thursday, April 10, leading to a partial suspension in water supply across several key areas.

According to a KWSC spokesperson, the maintenance work at Ghazi Goth will continue non-stop for 96 hours to improve the city’s overall water distribution efficiency.

As a result, residents in Nipa, Lyari, Jamshed Town, Jinnah Town, PIB Colony, Hyderabad Colony, Landhi, Korangi, and DHA may face reduced or no water supply during the repair period.

The city typically receives 650 million gallons per day (MGD) of water, but the repair is expected to lower that figure to 450 MGD, a shortfall of 200 MGD.

Authorities have urged the public to store water in advance and use it carefully until the supply returns to normal.
