Karachi is once again at risk of a major water disruption after two large pipelines at the University of Karachi suffered serious damage. According to officials, a 36-inch water pipeline burst within the campus, while an 84-inch main line has developed a leak.

Authorities report that the road leading to the university’s graveyard is now completely submerged. The situation has been worsening over the past three days, with thousands of gallons of water being wasted daily. Despite repeated alerts, the Water Board team has yet to respond.

“The 36-inch line is broken in multiple places,” said university officials. “And the 84-inch pipeline has a puncture that’s continuously leaking. If immediate repairs are not carried out, all the graves on campus could be at risk of flooding.”

Officials also noted that the damage is not new. Just weeks ago, the same 84-inch pipeline burst, causing losses worth millions of rupees, which have yet to be compensated.
