Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab announced the formation of a vigilance squad to protect city infrastructure and take legal action against those damaging government installations. The squad, consisting of 20 electric bikes aimed at reducing fuel costs and ensuring quick response times, will not be used for protocol purposes.
Wahab emphasized that strict action will be taken if anyone attempts to interfere with the mayor’s protocol, stating, “We do the work, someone else goes to do the road cutting. We install streetlights, someone steals them.”
Political tensions escalated following the removal of Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, intensifying the blame game between MQM and PPP leaders who have strained political relations.
