Toronto Raptors reportedly agreed to blockbuster trade with Los Angeles Clippers for Kawhi Leonard. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported the deal awaits final medical approval.

Los Angeles Clippers will send seven-time NBA All-Star to Toronto, along with Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, two unprotected first-round picks, a first-round pick swap and two second-round selections.

Kawhi Leonard views this as an opportunity to retire in Toronto, according to Charania on ESPN. Both teams are reviewing players’ medicals before the trade is finalized.

Raptors expected to offer Leonard two-year maximum contract extension once deal is completed. Leonard, 35, had one of his best seasons, averaging 27.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists across 65 games.

He also earned All-NBA Second Team honors after finishing seventh in MVP voting. Leonard led Raptors to first NBA championship in 2019 before leaving for Clippers in free agency. Clippers aim to continue rebuild following disappointing campaign, while Toronto hopes Leonard’s return can strengthen squad that reached playoffs last season but lost to Cleveland Cavaliers in first round.
