Matthew Perry’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, allegedly tampered with evidence related to ketamine supply following the actor’s death.

Federal prosecutors claim that immediately after Perry’s death, Iwamasa directed another individual to destroy ketamine evidence, shred documents, and scrub digital records. They also allege that he lied to investigators by hiding information about injecting Perry with multiple ketamine shots on the day of his death, as well as claiming Perry had hidden the ketamine bottles himself.

The court filing notes that Iwamasa instructed a person known only as BM to dispose of ketamine vials and syringes after Perry died. It also alleges he ordered the shredding of a ketamine prescription document and a handwritten note identifying Dr. Salvador Plasencia as a ketamine source.

Iwamasa reportedly admitted to cleaning up the scene, getting rid of bottles and syringes, deleting everything, and even changing passwords on Perry’s devices in a phone call with middleman Erik Fleming.

Prosecutors are seeking 41 months in prison for Iwamasa, who is set for sentencing on Wednesday. Matthew Perry was found dead in his jacuzzi on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54.
