King Charles’ US Visit Postponed Amid Trump’s Criticism Over UK’S Iran Support

King Charles’ forthcoming State Visit to the US has been a topic of discussion for months. This is largely due to former President Donald Trump’s recent criticism of the UK, citing their ‘lack luster’ support in the US’ actions in Iran.

Trump referenced Prime Minister Keir Starmer and called UK aircraft carriers as ‘toys’, contrasting them with his own counterparts. He emphasized that “we want to get involved when the war is over”, a statement he deemed incorrect, as it should be about involvement at the war’s beginning or even before it begins”.

The ambassador, Warren Stephens, immediately labeled the entire idea as a mistake. If King Charles were to consider canceling, Trump would reportedly react severely.

Others like royal biographer Andrew Lownie echoed similar sentiments, suggesting that this trip could provide Charles an opportunity to convince Trump to do things otherwise not possible”.
