King Charles visited the newly redeveloped Sir Robert Ogden MacMillan Cancer Centre at York Hospital on Tuesday. During his visit, he met with staff and patients involved in the project.
In December 2025, King Charles announced that doctors could reduce his cancer treatment due to remarkable medical advances. He was diagnosed with unspecified cancer in February 2024.
During a televised broadcast for Britain’s national cancer awareness campaign, Charles III shared that thanks to early diagnosis and effective intervention, his schedule of cancer treatment would be reduced next year. This milestone is both a personal blessing and a testament to recent advancements in cancer care.
Buckingham Palace stated that doctors will move his treatment into a precautionary phase due to his exceptional response to the current treatment plan, but they will continue to monitor his health closely.
