KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has penned a letter to the Chief Justice of the Gilgit-Baltistan Supreme Appellate Court, seeking immediate judicial intervention. The letter highlights concerns over an electoral environment that is allegedly opaque and unfair.
It alleges that one political party faces significant obstacles in conducting its activities, including public gatherings and election campaigns. There are also claims of unlawful arrests targeting political workers.
Afridi emphasizes the Constitution’s guarantee for every political party to participate in free, fair, transparent, and impartial elections. He urges the Chief Justice to direct relevant authorities to ensure a level playing field and transparency in Gilgit-Baltistan’s electoral process.
