Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has stated that his province aims to achieve self-sufficiency in various sectors by 2030. Addressing a ceremony held on Saturday to mark World Food Safety Day, Afridi emphasized the importance of promoting safe food awareness among the public.
The establishment of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority has improved healthy food supply, Afridi noted. However, he accused the Punjab government of withholding wheat supplies due to political reasons.
Afridi also criticized the federal government for reducing funding from 80% to 65%, despite KP providing bridge financing of Rs4 billion for the Northern Bypass project. He further alleged that the NHA is not issuing NOC for the Peshawar bus terminal route and foreign engineers are not being allowed to visit Swat Dam project sites.
