A Lahore sessions court has approved pre-arrest bail for YouTuber Aroob Jatoi in a gambling apps promotion case. The bail was granted with a 100,000 Pakistani rupee ($357) surety bond.
The decision came from Additional Sessions Judge Nusrat Ali Siddiqui after hearing arguments from lawyers. Initially, Jatoi wasn’t named in the FIR but was implicated post-forensic report of co-accused Saad-ur-Rehman.
The court noted NCIA’s failure to provide concrete evidence against Jatoi or establish her specific role in the case. Her mobile phone had not undergone forensic analysis.
Saad-ur-Rehman, already granted bail by Lahore High Court, was attributed even less alleged role. The NCIA failed to present video evidence of Jatoi promoting gambling apps and no citizen accused her of cheating or encouraging gambling.
The court also stated that neither the FIR nor ongoing investigations identified any witnesses. It suggested any potential role in the case could only be determined post-evidence recording during trial.
