Lahore’s light rain brings chilly temperatures

Lahore’s early morning showers unexpectedly brought a chill to the city on Wednesday. Dew drops adorned roads as residents woke up to light rain from Mall Road to Model Town, Kalma Chowk to Sanda, and several other areas. The weather service agency, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), issued warnings for cooler conditions with expected partly cloudy skies, rain, and thunderstorms in Balochistan, lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and southern Punjab over the next 24 hours.

Dunya News reported these scattered showers transformed what could have been a mild start to Wednesday into an unexpectedly cool day. As residents adjusted their schedules, the PMD advised staying alert for potential thunderstorms that might intensify during midday. Despite the sudden drop in temperature, the city quickly bounced back, with locals sharing stories and photos of the unexpected rain across social media platforms.

For those in southern Punjab, particularly Balochistan and lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the PMD urged caution as they prepared for a more substantial weather change ahead. The department’s forecast highlighted the region’s vulnerability to sudden shifts in weather patterns, emphasizing the importance of staying informed about evolving conditions.
