A user on X mocked the setup, calling it “low-end Holiday Inn real estate conference.” Another noted it was stuffy and claustrophobic.

The retreat’s modest setting starkly contrasts with Meghan Markle’s previous life of global royal events. The Duchess of Sussex, who left the royal family in 2020, has yet to publicly address the backlash.
