Supreme Court lawyer writes to Chief Justice Yahya Afridi urging restoration of five working days.

The letter cites delayed justice and lawyers’ mental stress due to three weekly court holidays. It emphasizes that delivery of justice is more important than fuel savings, aligning with judges’ oath to ensure justice under all circumstances.

Thousands of cases in the Supreme Court of Pakistan have been awaiting decisions for years, exacerbating lawyers’ stress.

While acknowledging necessity of austerity measures, letter argues that doors of justice must remain open. It urges Chief Justice, guardian of public rights, to restore five-day working week policy.
